FPC Youth Ministries-High School is the second half of a student’s youth experience here at First Presbyterian Church. All students in the 9th through 12th grades are welcome to be a part of the many opportunities and experiences we have together. Whether we are worshipping, learning, serving, or playing—You belong here and you matter!!
We have learned that the high school years are full of lots of stuff “to do;” therefore, our high school youth group strives to provide an opportunity “to be.” There are lots of things that are funny, so we laugh… We have lots of questions, so we wrestle with those questions… There is always plenty to eat and plenty of love, so we do our best to eat well and share our love with others. Weekly gatherings for High School Youth Group begin in September and end in May, with conference and mission opportunities throughout the summer. Weekly gatherings are held on Sunday nights from 6:30-8 PM, with occasional group outings and service opportunities.
See the church calendar for upcoming High School Youth Group Dates and Activities.
Each week during the school year, High School students are invited to join together before school. We gather each Tuesday morning @ Biscuitville (S. Church St.) around 7:30 AM, each Wednesday morning @ Skid’s (Elon) around 7 AM, and once a month on Thursday morning at Grill Worx around 7 AM for a time of table talk and a brief devotion. Rides to school can be provided for all students interested.

Annual Youth Slideshow
On the last Sunday in August we have an Annual Youth Slideshow from 5:30 – 8:00 PM. This event serves as an orientation for new parents. We have a catered dinner, watch a slideshow review of the previous year, and reveal the theme for the new year! During this event parents will receive announcements, forms and be able to sign up for the year’s events.
High School Summer Mission
Each June, a group of High School Youth from FPC answer the call to serve. We have been to Alaska, D.C., Atlanta, Denver, Mexico, New Orleans, Nashville, the Dominican Republic, Philadelphia, and Portland. Rotating on a schedule of Local/ Regional, National, and International locations, this mission experience provides youth with the opportunity to increase their awareness of others need and a chance to be God’s hands and feet, meeting the needs of others. Dates and costs vary, depending on the location. This June, we will be spending time in Richmond, VA.
Montreat Youth Conference
Each July, a group of High School Youth from FPC travel to Montreat, NC, to attend the Montreat Youth Conference. Registration for this event is open to all interested 9th through 12th grade students. To reserve a spot, registration and $100 deposit are due the November before the trip.
