In Our Congregation
At First Presbyterian Church, we believe that mission proclaims the responsive work of the Holy Spirit in the world. We are a community of believers who seek to serve and partner with our brothers and sisters in Christ to fulfill God’s call to peace, justice, and compassion. Jesus Christ calls us to love our neighbor and share the good news of the Gospel. Our church is active in this outreach in our congregation, in our community, and in our world.
Here are just a few ways you can serve in our congregation:
- Adult Youth Leader (Middle and High School)
- Youth Dinner Crew
- Youth Special Event Planner
- College Lunch Break Host
- Sunday Nursery Volunteer
- Church Office Volunteer
- Meals on Wheels delivery team
- Allied Churches Shelter meal preparer
- Furniture Ministry Workday volunteer
Volunteering: Short on Time, But Big on Desire?
If you’ve been wondering about ways to connect with fellow FPC-ers, as well as to live out Christ’s charge to us to love and serve one another — but don’t have a lot of time in your schedule — check out our new Volunteer Cards. These cards will be available in the church pews on the third Sunday of each month and will feature upcoming volunteer opportunities that are quick and easy to do. (Note that a limited number of cards will be in the church office, as well).
Just take a card, fill it out, and place it in the offering plate, (or drop it off in the church office). A staff member will follow up with you via email.
Easy! Enjoy the volunteer experiences and know that, even in your busy life, you are making a difference for your church, for your community, and for the world.
For more information or to volunteer, please contact Kathleen Seagroves for details.
